Principal Software Engineer — Core Banking Platform

The brief

Senior IC role anchoring the core banking re-platforming. Reports to the Chief Architect. Will partner with three vendors (the core-banking provider, an SI, and a niche Karachi-based fintech consultancy).

Scope of the role

• · Sets the technical direction on the customer-master and posting-engine workstreams.
• · Owns the integration architecture between the new core, the customer channels, and the existing data warehouse.
• · Mentors three principal-track engineers without line-managing them.

Must-haves

• · Twelve-plus years in software engineering, three of those at principal or staff level on a regulated platform.
• · Has shipped a core-banking, payments, or large-scale ledger system in production.
• · Java or Kotlin at production scale.
• · Comfort with vendor and SI dynamics in a regulated bank.

Nice-to-haves

• · Direct prior employment in a Pakistan or GCC tier-1 bank.
• · Temenos / Finacle / Flexcube familiarity.
• · Architecture certification (TOGAF or equivalent).
