Terms of engagement
Last reviewed: 1 March 2026.
For employer engagements
The terms below apply to retained, contingent and advisory engagements opened with any of the three Caliber entities. The contract for each engagement is signed against the entity domiciled in the same jurisdiction as the hiring entity (Lahore for Pakistan hires; DMCC for UAE / GCC hires; London for UK / EU hires). Cross-jurisdiction engagements are documented at the time of engagement.
Retainer fees are 33% of the placed candidate's first-year base salary, billed in three equal tranches: at engagement, at shortlist presentation, and on placement. Contingent fees are 22% of the placed candidate's first-year base salary, billed only on placement.
Replacement guarantee: if a placed candidate leaves of their own volition or is terminated for cause within 12 weeks of their start date, we will run a replacement search at no further fee. The guarantee is contingent on full payment of all retainer tranches and on the engagement having been with us at the time of the original placement.
Off-limits agreement: we will not approach a placed candidate for an alternative role for 24 months following placement. We will not approach any other employee of the hiring entity for the duration of the original engagement plus 12 months after.
For candidates
We do not charge candidates fees of any kind. Conversations with our consultants are confidential by default and your CV is shared with an employer only with your written per-engagement consent.
We will tell you honestly if a role we are working on is or is not a fit for you, and we will not press you into an opening that does not match what you have told us you want next.

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the applicable governing law of the engagement, the liability of any Caliber entity in connection with an engagement is capped at the aggregate fees paid to that entity under the engagement.
Governing law and jurisdiction
For Pakistan engagements: the laws of Pakistan apply, with the courts of Lahore and Karachi as competent jurisdictions. For UAE engagements: the laws of the DMCC Free Zone and the federal laws of the UAE, with the DIFC Courts as competent jurisdiction. For UK engagements: the laws of England and Wales, with the courts of England and Wales as competent jurisdiction.
