The brief
Builds out and leads the company's data function across data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, and a new data-science sub-team. Reports to the COO. The role replaces a data leader who left for a larger role at Talabat.
Scope of the role
- · Direct line management of 4 leads (Eng / Analytics / BI / DS) and indirect of 18 ICs.
- · Owns the data function's 18-month roadmap, hiring plan, and budget.
- · Sits on the leadership team alongside the CTO, CFO, COO, CPO, and Chief Commercial Officer.
Must-haves
- · Ten years in data, three of those leading a data function of 15+ people.
- · Has built or rebuilt a data warehouse and analytics function from a baseline state.
- · Has hired and retained at least one senior leader (lead, head, or director-level).
- · Comfort presenting at CXO level — internal and to investors.
Nice-to-haves
- · GCC scale-up leadership experience.
- · Logistics, marketplace, or fintech vertical familiarity.
- · Earlier consulting or audit background (for finance-team rapport).
