Senior Data Engineer — Customer & Pricing

The brief

Owns the canonical customer-and-pricing data model end-to-end. Sits in the platform sub-team within the data org. The role exists because pricing decisions are currently being made on six conflicting daily extracts and the COO has lost patience.

Scope of the role

• · Owns the customer + pricing dimensional model in the warehouse (Snowflake on AWS).
• · Builds and runs the dbt project that materialises the model.
• · Pairs with the analytics engineering team on consumer-facing pricing dashboards.
• · Mentors two mid-level data engineers without managing them formally.

Must-haves

• · Five years building production data pipelines, two of those with primary ownership of a domain model.
• · dbt at production-scale (multiple environments, exposures, tests).
• · Snowflake or BigQuery (or comparable cloud warehouse) at production scale.
• · Python or SQL fluency to write reusable transformations and tests.

Nice-to-haves

• · Logistics or marketplace pricing-model experience.
• · Experience replacing legacy Tableau/Looker estates with metric-layer-first pipelines.
• · Comfort working with finance teams on contribution-margin reporting.

Process

1. 45-min initial call with Ravi.
2. Two-hour technical conversation with the Head of Data + a senior analytics engineer.
3. Take-home pricing-model exercise (4 hours, 3-day window).
4. Final on-site: COO + CFO + senior partner from the analytics team.
5. Offer.
