Engineering Manager — Billing & Subscriptions

The brief

Owns a 7-engineer team on the billing and subscription product surface. Reports to the VP Engineering. The team is mid-way through a migration from a homegrown billing engine to Stripe Billing.

Scope of the role

• · Direct management of 7 engineers (2 senior, 4 mid, 1 junior).
• · Owns the migration from the homegrown billing engine to Stripe Billing.
• · Quarterly planning with finance + revenue ops + product.

Must-haves

• · Five years in production engineering, two of those line-managing a team of five-plus.
• · Hands-on familiarity with billing or subscription product surfaces.
• · TypeScript on Node, or Python.
• · UK right to work.

Nice-to-haves

• · Direct Stripe Billing migration experience.
• · B2B SaaS experience.
• · Earlier engineering manager who has done a re-platforming end-to-end.

Process

1. 45-min initial call with Daniel.
2. 90-min conversation with the VP Engineering + a Stripe-side engineer.
3. Half-day on-site: 1:1 with two team leads + the CFO + the head of revenue ops.
